A runaway girl, a trans woman, and an alcoholic are digging through trash on Christmas Eve, looking for something to eat. What they pull out instead is a newborn baby, left in the cold. Hana holds her and that's it, the mother in her takes over. She names the girl Kiyoko, pure child, and decides they're going to find the woman who threw her away and ask her, face to face, what she was thinking. The only clues are a key and a note. That should be simple enough. It isn't. Tokyo has other plans for the three of them, and every turn drags them further from the baby's parents and closer to the lives they walked out on years ago. Gin, Miyuki, Hana: none of them ended up on the street by accident, and the city keeps reminding them of it. They fight, they split up, they come back together. Christmas keeps going, the baby keeps crying, and somewhere in all that noise each of them is chasing a miracle of their own. Whether they find the mother is one thing. Whether any of them wants to go home after this is another.
