Tatsuhiro Satou hasn't left his apartment in almost four years. No job, no friends, no girlfriend. Just a 22-year-old college dropout sitting in the dark, building an entire theory about why he can't step outside. The NHK is behind it all, he's sure of it. Not the broadcasting company. The Nihon Hikikomori Kyokai, a secret organization turning people into shut-ins like him, one recluse at a time. Or at least that's what he tells himself while the fourth year of his isolation quietly runs out. Then a girl knocks on his door. Misaki Nakahara, mysterious and persistent, says he's been chosen for a project meant to help people exactly like him. Which sounds like salvation right up until you realize what it actually demands: leaving the apartment, talking to humans, getting a job. Facing the thing that terrifies him more than any conspiracy ever could. And here's the trap. Misaki might be exactly what Tatsuhiro needs. She might also be something else entirely, and he has no way of knowing which. So what happens when the only person offering to save you is someone you can't trust?
