Mikado Ryuugamine spent his whole life in a quiet town where nothing ever happened, so when his childhood friend Masahomi Kida invites him to Tokyo, he jumps at the chance. Mikado makes friends, meets the neighborhood regulars, and slowly gets pulled into all of it, from street crews to online forums to black market dealers and worse. He wanted excitement. He got it. But somewhere between the stalkers, the killers and the thing on the motorcycle, Mikado has to figure out what he actually came here for. And whether the city is changing him, or he was always this kind of person. How long can you stand next to the darkness before it notices you?
