Yu Narukami gets shipped off to the sticks for a year while his parents work overseas. Small town, tiny school, a goofy teacher, and a little cousin running around his uncle's house. Kind of dull, but survivable. Then a TV announcer turns up dead, and the whole town starts whispering about a channel that only shows up at midnight, on rainy nights, when you're completely alone. So of course he tries it. And what he sees on the screen is the next victim. What he doesn't expect is the TV pulling him in. His classmates Yosuke and Chie get dragged along too, straight into a foggy place crawling with things that want them dead. Backs against the wall, something massive rises behind Yu, and a voice inside him says: I am you, and you are me. Suddenly he can control it like his own body. Now a small crew of students is poking around a world that shouldn't exist, chasing a killer the police can't even find. But if the murders and that channel are connected, then who's been tossing people in before them?
