A quiet coastal town called Morioh, 1999. Nothing ever happens here, or at least that is what everyone keeps telling themselves. Then an old bow and arrow turn up, and anyone it pierces wakes up with a power they never asked for. They call them Stands. Suddenly the neighbors are not so boring anymore. Young women keep vanishing off these calm streets. Nobody panics. Nobody even files much of a report. The man doing it walks around town like he owns the place, and honestly, he does. Then a marine biologist named Joutarou Kudjou rolls in looking for a kid named Jousuke Higashikata, who turns out to be his uncle. Family reunions in this bloodline are weird like that. Jousuke is soft spoken, built like a rock, and has no idea what he is walking into. Together with a nervous schoolboy and a loudmouth with a temper, they start poking at the disappearances, one strange street corner at a time. Every new Stand user they meet is a fresh kind of trouble, and somewhere in the middle of it all, the killer is watching them get closer. How long can a small town keep pretending nothing is wrong?
