A seventeen year old thug sits in a Japanese jail cell. He didn't do anything. He just wants to stay locked up. Something inside him keeps breaking things, and Joutarou Kuujou is sure he's possessed. His mother Holy panics and calls in her father, Joseph Joestar, who shows up with an old friend and drags the kid into a brawl he can't win. That "evil spirit" has a name: a Stand, the shape your fighting spirit takes when it decides to fight back. Then it gets worse. The same power wakes up inside Holy, and it isn't the kind that punches people. It's slow. It eats her from the inside, and she has fifty days. So Joutarou, Joseph and a small crew start walking. Japan to Cairo, the long way, because the immortal vampire who started all of this is sitting there waiting, and he wants the family's blood. Every town on the map hides someone with a Stand and a reason to kill them first. The old man's hand, the fortune teller, the swordsman, the kid in the school uniform: none of them may live to see Egypt.
