Mai and her friends trade ghost stories at school, and the abandoned building on campus always gets a mention. Then a boy interrupts them. He's seventeen, runs something called Shibuya Psychic Research, and the principal hired him to check whether the rumors are true. Walking past that same building the next morning, Mai spots a camera sitting inside and goes in for a closer look. A shout from behind makes her jump. The camera hits the floor, Kazuya's assistant ends up hurt, and just like that Mai owes a debt she can't pay. So now she works for a boss who treats her like unpaid labor and a paranormal world she never believed in. Between the haunted halls and the cases that keep piling up, she starts to learn what ghost hunting really means. But what is Kazuya hiding behind that cold attitude, and why does the old building keep pulling her back?
