Episode 1 · Karas

Karas

Yurine has one job: keep the demons from spilling into human streets. She has the Karas for that, a servant in black feathers who walks between both worlds and holds the line. People above have stopped believing any of it. They laugh at old stories, and they have no idea how lucky they are to walk home unafraid. Then a Karas quits. An old one, Eko, who once obeyed the same laws, turns his back on all of it. He builds an army of mechanized demons and points them at the human race. Otoha inherits the power next, a young man who was nobody special until Yurine told him his soul had called out to her. Now he lives among demons and has to prove he can carry a name he barely understands. Somewhere in the city, a superstitious cop named Sagisaka and his skeptical rookie Kure are working the same murders from the other side, following a rogue demon called Nue. Two investigations, one coming flood. What happens when the city finally has to look at what it has been stepping around?
