Kagura loses her mother young, and the Isayama family takes her in. Yomi is the daughter, and the two girls become sisters in everything but blood. They also fight side by side in the Supernatural Disaster Countermeasures Division, a government unit that quietly erases monsters before the public ever notices. Back to back, sword in hand, they are very good at it. Then the bond starts to fray. Sacred duty grinds them down. Family politics get ugly. One of them leans into the job with everything she has. The other begins walking a road that only goes one direction, and no one notices in time to stop it. By the time the division understands the threat, it is coming from inside their own ranks. Now Kagura has to face what her sister has become. Every mission before this was training for the moment she would have to raise her blade against the person she loves most. Could you kill someone you love, out of love for them?
