It's 1983 in Hinamizawa, and the village has been sealed off. A virus is loose, something nobody can name yet, and the usual summer quiet is gone. Keiichi and Rena don't understand what's happening, only that soldiers guard the roads and nobody is allowed out. Mion is scared too. Everyone is. Then the panic turns ugly. Some villagers stop waiting for help and start making their own plans, the kind you don't come back from. That's when escape becomes the only option for Keiichi and his friends, and the fight turns into something far worse than a quarantine. Friends turn on each other. The threat isn't just the disease anymore, and not everyone in the group is going to walk away whole. Who will still be standing when the village finally opens its gates?
