A virus called Medousa turns people to stone and there is no cure. So the Venus Gate Corporation picks 160 people, puts them to sleep inside an old castle, and promises to wake them when a treatment exists. Kasumi Ishiki is one of the chosen. She hates leaving her twin sister Shizuku behind, but she closes her eyes anyway, hoping they will meet again someday. Then she wakes up. The castle is buried under thorns, like something out of a fairy tale gone wrong. Monsters nobody has ever seen come crawling out of the dark, and most of the sleepers die in the first few minutes of panic. Kasumi survives with a handful of others, and together they start picking their way through the maze of corridors, trying to figure out how long they slept and what happened to the world outside. Every answer they find only leads to worse questions, and the corporation that put them here clearly had plans it never shared. What is Medousa really, and why does the facility seem built for something other than keeping people alive?
