A girl with two small horns sits in a government lab, strapped down and cut open. She is a Diclonius, a mutated branch of humanity with invisible telekinetic arms, and the men in white coats have been studying her for years. Then one day she gets loose. Guards die. A lot of them. Blood everywhere, and she almost makes it out clean until a high caliber round catches her in the skull. She falls off a cliff into the ocean and washes up on a beach, where two college kids, Kouta and his cousin Yuka, find her. Except the bullet did something. She can't remember anything, and the only sound she makes is a soft "nyu." They name her that. They take her home. She sits on the floor, eats, acts like a child. Kouta has no idea what he's keeping in his house, and no idea that something else is still in there with her, waiting. The government wants its experiment back, and there are other Diclonius out there, some of them far worse. How long can a killer hide behind a head injury before the wrong sound, the wrong memory, brings her back out?
