One summer night, something like snow fell over a small Japanese town. Soft, fluffy little balls drifting down, gone by morning without a trace. Nobody would have thought twice about it. Except that was only the start. Those flurries carried parasites, and they were looking for brains. They burrow in, take the body, and the person you knew is simply gone. They can reshape their hosts into blades and claws and worse, all to feed. Shinichi Izumi is sixteen and just trying to get through high school. One of the things gets into him, but it botches the job. Instead of his brain, it ends up in his right hand. Now it can't move, can't take him over, can't survive without him. It calls itself Migi, and the two of them are stuck with each other. That arrangement would be awkward enough on its own. Problem is, other parasites are out there, and a human walking around with one of them attached is a loose end they want cut. Shinichi has to hide what he is, fight things that look like his neighbors, and figure out how much of himself is still his. So when the only thing keeping you alive is a creature that would have eaten your mind, whose side are you actually on?
