One sunset, the demons come out. That is how it has always worked, and the border between Assiah and Gehenna stays shut to anything with flesh and bone. Satan himself has never crossed it. Every human body he tried to pour himself into collapsed within moments, which is why the king of the demons sits stuck in his own world, watching ours through the glass. Then he gets creative. He possesses a man, and that man fathers twins. One of them, Yukio, comes out a normal kid. The other, Rin, comes out half demon, and the church bigwigs want both of them dead before they can grow up. Father Fujimoto, the strongest exorcist alive, steps in and raises them instead. Years pass. Rin thinks he is just a hotheaded teenager with bad grades and a temper. Then demons jump him in the street, and the truth lands on him all at once: his real father is Satan, and Satan wants him back so the two of them can take over Assiah together. Rin refuses. Instead he signs up to train as an exorcist, right alongside Yukio, who got there first and who never told him a thing. Now Rin has to hide what he is from the very people who would kill him if they found out, while his father keeps calling him home. How long can a kid keep choosing one world when the other one is already inside his blood?
