Flying is about as ordinary as riding a bike on these four islands south of Japan, all thanks to Grav-Shoes. And where there is flight, there is Flying Circus: a sport where you score by tagging floating buoys or slapping your opponent's back midair. Asuka Kurashina has just transferred to Kunahama High, clumsy and way too trusting for her own good, and she has never touched the sport. Then, her very first time in the air, she pulls off a move that seasoned players spend years chasing. That stunt drags her straight into the school's Flying Circus club, where Misaki Tobisawa flies with real skill and Mashiro Arisaka hovers around her like a bodyguard. Their coach is Masaya Hinata, and he knows this sport from the inside: he once lost badly enough to walk away from it for good. Watching Asuka fly, something in him wakes back up. He agrees to teach her, and just like that, he is back in the game for the second time in his life. A rookie with raw instinct, a coach with old scars, and rivals who will not go easy on either of them. The sky is wide open, but nobody said it would be kind. How far can the two of them actually fly together?
