Kanata spends her days hauling potatoes out of the dirt on Earth until a burning thing falls out of the sky and lands in the woods. Inside the wreck sits a weakened girl, who presses two wristbands into Kanata's hands and asks her to enter the Daiundoukai and win the title of Cosmo Beauty. Before Kanata can even ask her name, the girl is gone. No ship, no crater, no trace. Just two wristbands and a promise she can't let go of. So she trains. For years. Hard enough to win the qualifier and earn a spot on the University Satellite, where girls from every corner of the solar system live and compete together for one crown. Some have talents Kanata has never seen before. Some would rather win alone. Kanata keeps pulling them into the same room anyway, because a team that eats together tends to fight harder together, and the competition only gets rougher from here. But the closer she climbs toward that title, the more the tournament itself starts to look strange. Rules that don't add up. Officials who know more than they say. Something buried under all the noise and the cheering. Was the girl in the wreck really just a messenger, and if Kanata finally reaches the top, will she find her waiting there or find out she was never meant to?
