Teikou Middle School won the national basketball title three years straight, and the five stars behind it got a name: the Generation of Miracles. What nobody noticed was the sixth kid on the court. He had no size, no speed, almost no presence at all. He was the phantom sixth man, the one the five geniuses counted as an equal, and when the team broke apart after graduation, he vanished into the background like he was never there. Then he shows up at Seirin High, a program barely a year old, standing next to Taiga Kagami, a hotheaded freshman just back from America who can jump through the roof. Kagami wants to be the best. Kuroko has no shot, no dribble worth mentioning, and a conviction that he is strong in his own way. So they make a deal: Kagami plays the light, Kuroko becomes his shadow, feeding him passes from angles no defender even thinks to watch. Their goal is the Interhigh, except every other school now has one of Kuroko's old teammates on its roster, and none of them are thrilled to see him. Can a team that just formed take down five monsters, or is the shadow about to be dragged into the light?
