Yuuka Sasaki never meant to step into the ring that day. She just happened to be standing in the wrong place when someone called out a challenge, and suddenly she was facing Chikage Fujimura, the strongest Circlet Bout player in Japan. Yuuka had no training, no technique, nothing but instinct. Somehow she held her ground and the match ended in a draw. That fight lit something inside her. Two years later she packs up and moves to Tokyo, enrolling at Union School where she can train and chase a rematch with Chikage. There is just one problem. The Circlet Bout club is dead. Shut down. Empty. So before she can even think about nationals, she teams up with Miyuki Kasahara, a natural athlete, and Ayumu Aizawa, the club's manager, to drag the thing back to life. Rebuilding a club from nothing is its own kind of fight, and not everyone at Union wants to see it happen. The sport itself is bigger than just school pride. At the intersection of VR and AR, Circlet Bout has become the yardstick by which entire schools are measured, their funding and reputation riding on every match. Which means Yuuka is not just chasing a rival anymore. Can a girl who stumbled into her first bout by accident really climb to the top of a sport that decides the fate of whole schools?
