Nana Sakurai picked Honan Academy for one reason: the stride team. She'd watched them run, and that was it for her. Takeru Fujiwara, same year, same obsession, shows up wanting in too. They find the club dead. No members, no activity, just a signboard hanging under the shogi club like somebody forgot to take it down. So they go recruit Riku Yagami. Fast, strong, tries every sport that exists. He says no. Flat out. Stride is the last thing he'd ever do, and he means it. Except somehow he ends up on the roster anyway. One runner short of a relay, that was the whole problem, and now they have him. Six players, handoffs from city to city, all of Japan's schools chasing the same prize: the End of Summer tournament. Can a club that technically doesn't exist drag Honan back to the top, and what is Riku actually running from?
