Thirty three years ago a pillar of fog opened above the South Pole and the JAM came through it, heading straight for Earth. Humanity shoved them back and then chased them across space, all the way to a planet called Fairy, where the fighting never stopped. Five UN bases sit up there now, and a whole air force built around them. Rei Fukai flies for that force. Recon, mostly. His jet is the Super Sylph called Yukikaze, the best spy plane they have, and it thinks for itself, more or less, so he lets it do a lot of the work. He gathers intel on how the JAM fight, and he is very good at it. He is also the guy nobody in the hangar wants to talk to. Then one day, mid battle, with blood still on the tarmac, something comes at him. Same frame. Same model. His own plane, or one just like it, and it is not answering any calls and it is not friendly. So who sent it, and why does it look exactly like Yukikaze?
