A year before the Zentraedi ever show up, Earth is already tearing itself apart. The U.N. Spacy wants one unified world. The anti-U.N. forces want none of it. Shin Kudo flies with Skull Squadron, a brand new unit strapped into the VF-0, a prototype fighter that still smells like fresh paint. Then the enemy's latest plane drops him out of the sky. He wakes up on Mayan, a tropical island with no roads, no radio, no war. Just water, trees, and people who live like the rest of the planet never happened. Shin heals. He learns the rhythm of the place. And that's when the quiet breaks open, because the same conflict he fell out of is now parked right on the island's doorstep, with the VF-0 leading the charge. Two worlds he can't reconcile, a fight that decides how the whole war ends, and a pilot stuck between them. Whose side does he choose when both of them are already home?
