Daisuke just wants to get through high school without any noise. His family is quiet in a way that wears him down, nobody laughs at home, and he is the serious type who keeps his head down. Then his father's company collapses. No allowance, no phone money, no train fare, and a fifteen kilometer bike ride to school every single day if he refuses to work. So he takes a part time job at a family restaurant called Wagnaria, mostly because it is close. The staff there is a different species. Oddballs, every one of them, and Daisuke has to somehow fit into their rhythm without losing his mind. He wanted a quiet shift and got a circus instead. Can a guy who cannot even laugh with his own family survive a workplace where everyone else is a joke?
