Souta Takanashi has a weakness, and it is small and cute. So when Popura Taneshima, who looks like a grade schooler but is actually a high schooler, asks him to work at Wagnaria, a family restaurant up in Hokkaido, he says yes before his brain can object. He soon finds out doting on her is the easy part. The rest of the staff is where things get weird. The floor chief carries a katana. The sous chef knows everything about everyone and enjoys it way too much. The manager naps and eats while the place runs itself. And then there is Mahiru Inami, a waitress who greets every male customer with a right hook, which makes Souta's shifts a daily test of reflexes and ribs. Somehow nobody quits, the tables get served, and the chaos keeps repeating every single day. So can a guy who just wanted to be surrounded by cute things survive a job where a punch to the face counts as customer service?
