Souta Takanashi took the job because the uniform was cute. That is the whole reason. Now he dodges a waitress who punches every man on sight, watches the first cook pretend he is not in love with the head waitress, and tries to keep a tiny girl with nowhere to sleep from getting caught living in the back room. A normal shift at Wagnaria means somebody is hiding in the pantry and somebody else is blackmailing the staff with what they found there. Then the manager wanders in, eats half the stock, and leaves the paperwork to everyone else. Kyouko runs the place without actually running it, Yachiyo would follow her off a cliff, and Jun has spent years watching that happen in silence. Meanwhile Hiromi collects secrets like receipts, Mahiru apologizes after every punch she throws, and Poplar keeps getting mistaken for a child. Three seasons of crushes that go nowhere and family members nobody can find, all crammed into one restaurant floor. The regulars keep coming back for the food, which is a mystery, because the staff can barely get through a lunch rush without a disaster. Can any of these people just say what they mean before the last order is called?
