Fushi slept for centuries so the world could grow up without him. He wakes to glass towers, cars screaming past, phones glowing in every hand. Nobody remembers the wolf, the boy, the stone. He loves it anyway. He moves his old friends into a house, March and Gugu and Bon, and a loud middle schooler named Yuuki just opens his door and lets them all in. Then he meets Mizuha, Yuuki's friend. Her face hits him like a slap. She is a descendant of the Guardians, the ones who always kept him safe, and she falls for him the same way her ancestors did. Her life gets brighter. His gets strange. Whenever she comes close, something wrong happens, something he cannot explain. The world he built during his long sleep was supposed to be peaceful. It is not. Old enemies are slipping back in, the kind that crawl into the softest parts of a person, and the creator who made him is still watching, still hiding his reasons. Fushi will have to fight for this new life, but the real question is what he will have to give up to keep it. And what does the Observer actually want from him?
