The Future Diary
Yukiteru Amano talks to empty air. Deus Ex Machina, he calls the imaginary friend, a god of time and space who supposedly listens. Nobody at school listens. So the shy kid narrates his whole boring life into his phone instead, every little thing, like a witness taking notes on a world he is not part of. Then one morning the phone answers back. Entries he never typed show up, describing things that have not happened yet, and by evening every one of them comes true. That is when the rules arrive. Deus is real, and so is the game. Thirteen people carry phones like his, each diary predicting the future in its own twisted way, and only the last one standing gets to take the god's place. The girl beside him in class, Yuno Gasai, has one too. She is sweet, she is terrifying, and she seems to know Yukiteru far better than a stranger should. Now a kid who could barely say hello has to outthink hunters who see tomorrow coming. Yuno will do anything to keep him alive. Anything. The question is not whether he survives the game. It is whether he can survive the girl who has decided he belongs to her.
