Makoto Itou can't work up the nerve to say a word to the girl he rides the train with every morning. So he does something sneakier: he snaps her picture and sets it as his phone wallpaper, a charm said to make your crush come true if you keep it to yourself. Then his classmate Sekai catches a glimpse of the screen. Most people would tease him or blab. Sekai does neither. She offers to play matchmaker, walks right up to Kotonoha and becomes her friend, all so Makoto can get close. It works better than anyone planned. The three of them start hanging out, and the girl from the train is suddenly within reach. But somewhere along the way Sekai's feelings slip out of her control. One evening, waiting at the station across from school, she runs into Makoto, who's there to meet Kotonoha for their date. He thanks her over and over, says he owes her anything. So she takes it. Just as her train starts to pull away, she kisses him and hops aboard, leaving him standing on the platform with the debt paid and his date still on the way. What exactly has she started, and how long before Kotonoha finds out?
