Eva just turned another year older and her father didn't even call. So she grabs the rocket bike she built herself, ditches that boarding school she hates, and takes off. She calls herself Molly now. Somehow she talks her way onto the Earth crew headed for Alwas, where the winner of the Great Race gets one wish, anything at all. The team has no idea she's the boss's daughter. They also have no idea what's really waiting for them out there. Here's the thing nobody on Earth signed up for: a being called the Avatar showed up and invited humanity to a race held once every ten thousand years. The prize sounds nice. The real reason for the whole event is something else entirely. And while the team is away chasing a wish, the Krogs, an alien war machine that's been pounding humanity for years, aren't going anywhere. Eva's riding with a crew that thinks she's just some kid with a fake name, her father is on that same ship and doesn't recognize her, and the finish line might be the last place anyone wants to reach. What happens when the race stops being a race?
