On the island of Iwado, just off Okinawa, the locals have been talking more and more about running their own affairs, and twelve year old Ao Fukai is mostly worried about starting middle school. He lives with an old doctor named Toshio. His father is gone. His mother was taken by strangers ten years ago, and nobody ever explained why. His friend Naru is always nearby, carrying a strange power called Yuta that woke up inside her after an accident when she was small. Then something called Secret shows up and starts tearing apart the Scub Coral around the island. No warning, no demands. Just destruction. Ao sneaks onto a Japanese military transport and climbs into a machine called Nirvash, and he does it because he wants to protect the only home he has. He is twelve. He has no training. So what happens when a kid with no plan at all is the one sitting in that cockpit?
