Miyuki Hoshizora believes in happy endings. Fairy tales, wonder, the whole thing. So when she races to her first day at a new school and nearly trips over a tiny fairy named Candy, she figures her story is finally starting. Then Candy vanishes. Just like that. Probably a dream, Miyuki tells herself, and gets on with her day. Except the school library has other plans. One minute she is pulling books off a shelf, the next she is standing next to Candy again, and the fairy needs warriors called Precure. Miyuki becomes Cure Happy on the spot, because protecting everyone's happiness does not wait for permission. But somewhere out there, an enemy is building a kingdom of bad endings, and its soldiers have come to Earth to harvest human misery. Candy's people once stopped their emperor, at a cost nobody likes to talk about. Now it is three girls against that whole army: Miyuki, loud and stubborn; Akané, who can make anyone laugh; Yayoi, sweet and scared of her own shadow. They have to find each other, find the rest, and gather some great artifact before the bad endings win. Can a girl who just wanted her own happy ending really hand one to everybody else?
