Goku has settled down. Five years after winning the World Martial Arts tournament, he spends his days with his wife and son, and the fighting feels like it is finally behind him. Then a stranger lands on Earth and calls himself Raditz, Goku's long lost brother. He says Goku belongs to the Saiyans, a race almost wiped out, and that he was sent here as a baby to destroy this planet. A bad fall stole his memories and turned a savage child into a kind one. Now he protects the people he was meant to kill. Raditz wants him back. Goku refuses, so the brother delivers a warning instead: stronger fighters are already on their way, and their arrival will set off a war over the seven Dragon Balls, the magic orbs that grant any wish. Goku goes to meet their leader and loses. Badly. Earth looks finished, until his own son Gohan, a kid with a reputation for being scared of everything, steps in and pulls his father out of the fire. So now a boy who runs from danger has to stand next to his dad against invaders who should not be beatable. Can Gohan find something in himself before the next fight, or is losing simply a matter of time?
