A shooting star cuts across the night sky, and Mirai Asahina, who never met an adventure she didn't like, decides to chase it down. She wants proof. Witches, wizards, all that stuff people call make believe. Then she bumps into Liko, a witch apprentice from the Magic World who can barely land a spell without tripping over her own feet. That's when the monsters show up. No warning, no reason, just trouble. Mirai and Liko grab each other's hands because there is nothing else to do, and something clicks. Light, power, a pair of legendary mages called Maho Girls Precure. Two girls who met by accident are now carrying magic they don't fully understand. They travel together, collecting gemstones, learning spells, figuring out why their worlds keep pulling toward each other. Liko is clumsy. Mirai is reckless. Together they might be unstoppable. But what exactly is the Magic World hiding, and why did that star fall right where Mirai could find it?
