Flying Witch
Makoto packs up and leaves Yokohama at fifteen, because that is what witches do: move out, learn to stand on their own, get better at the craft. Her black cat Chito rides along. They land in Aomori, a quiet town of mountains, clear rivers, and so much green that witches tend to gather there. Her second cousins Kei and Chinatsu take her in. Chinatsu starts noticing things right away, small oddities in how Makoto acts, and then comes the market. Makoto picks out a broom, climbs on, and floats up into the air. That settles it for Chinatsu. Life in this house just got a lot stranger. Between school and home, Makoto keeps running into the weird side of things, like a fortune telling dog who walks on two legs, and her older sister Akane dropping by with magic lessons that raise more questions than answers. Nobody in the family seems to find any of it unusual. So what exactly does a fifteen year old witch still have left to figure out?
