Sora's dad travels the world and keeps mailing home "souvenirs." So far: nothing but trouble. Then a crate arrives from Egypt, big enough to hide a person inside. Sora opens it braced for the worst. What he finds is tiny, wrapped in bandages, and staring up at him with enormous eyes. A mummy. Pint sized. Harmless. Mii-kun wants attention, mostly, and maybe a snack, and he is more fragile than he looks. Which raises a few practical questions nobody prepared Sora for. What does a mummy even eat? How do you bathe something wrapped head to toe? And why does it keep following him to school? Between class, his aunt, and a growing circle of friends who all seem to have their own impossible pets, Sora is basically winging it. Keeping a pet is hard work. Keeping this one might be harder. But he is not giving Mii-kun back. Not a chance. So what happens when a creature that belongs in a museum decides it belongs with a teenage boy instead?
