For five hundred years they have been showing up across Europe. White-haired kids, always eleven years old, always in a different city, always gone before anyone can ask the right questions. They speak like adults, they don't age, and people who get too close swear the children can do things that shouldn't be possible. Every single time, they are hunting for one girl. The only thing they carry is a strange medallion marked with a crescent moon. Then comes 2012, and Tohma. He's just a fast kid who likes to run, nowhere near any of this, until he stumbles into their path by accident. Now the search that has stretched over centuries has an outsider in the middle of it. The children don't want him there. Someone else clearly does. Why him, out of everyone alive, and what happens when the girl with the crescent moon is finally found?
