Les Miserables: Shoujo Cosette

Drama2007Nippon AnimationRating 8,00+HD

France, early 1800s. Fantine can't find work anywhere, and the little money she scrapes together goes straight to the Thenardiers, the innkeeping couple she trusted with her three year old daughter. Big mistake. They pocket every franc and put Cosette to work scrubbing floors, hauling buckets, taking beatings. She keeps her mouth shut and waits for her mother to come back. Then one night, running an errand in the dark, she bumps into a stranger named Jean Valjean. He talks to her for a minute, really talks to her, and something clicks. He marches her out of that inn and doesn't look back. In a nearby town she gets a bed, warm food, a life. She swears she'll spend it helping people, and not just a few of them. But the France she's inherited is still bleeding from the revolution, and there are plenty of people who'd rather she stayed quiet and grateful. So what happens when the girl who was rescued decides she wants to rescue the whole country?
