Boogiepop Phantom
Five years ago something moved through this city and left bodies behind. People gave it a name: Boogiepop. A shinigami, they said, that walks where you cannot see it. Then the killings stopped, and everyone went back to school and forgot. Now it is happening again. Monsters, ghosts, things with no word for them in any human language. They drift through the hallways of Hijiridani High and Shinyo Academy, and daylight does not keep anyone safe. Whatever people bury inside themselves is coming up for air. Boogiepop is back too, or something wearing that name, and it is fighting. But the questions are older than the bodies: what is this thing, what happened five years ago, and why does it keep returning to this city? Nobody gets the whole answer. Nobody ever does. Something is standing in the dark right now. Are you sure you would know if it was behind you?
