Lux sits far below the surface, a city built for an experiment the people above have long since forgotten. Down here nobody escapes. Gangs hold the streets, and everything runs on raffia, a rare ore that only grows in these tunnels. It also powers texhnolyze, the transplants that swap flesh for machine parts without the body rejecting them. Keigo Oonishi runs Organo with texhnolyzed legs and a rumor that he hears the city talking to him. Then a stranger named Kazuho Yoshii shows up and starts leaving bodies behind, and the gangs turn on each other fast. Ichise used to box. Organo took his arm and leg, and Doc Kamata gave him new ones. Ran sells flowers and sees what has not happened yet. Neither of them asked to be in the middle of this. The balance is gone. Lux is sliding somewhere ugly, and the two of them are standing right where it cracks open. Is texhnolyze what keeps this city alive, or the thing that finally tears it apart?
