Retsuko is a red panda stuck at the bottom of a Japanese corporation, and everyone above her knows it. Her boss is a sexist pig who does no actual work. The suck-ups circle him anyway. The coworkers who seem to have perfect lives keep dumping their tasks on her desk, so she stays late most nights to finish what they were too lazy to touch. Then it's a convenience store dinner alone at home, a packed train in the morning, and the whole thing starts over. Here's the part nobody at the office knows. By night, Retsuko locks herself in a karaoke booth and screams death metal into a microphone until her throat burns. That tiny room is the only place her rage gets to exist. At work she smiles, bows, and swallows every insult, because showing anger is not an option. But the more she steps outside the box everyone has built for her, the more she wonders if hiding this side of herself is really worth it. Letting people in might not ruin everything. It might be the only thing keeping her sane. So what happens when the quiet office girl finally lets someone hear her scream?
