Retsuko and Haida are finally together, and for a while it looks like the worst is behind them. Everyone has settled back into their old routines. Everyone except Haida. He never really recovered from everything that happened, and now he sits at home all day grinding online games and dumping ridiculous amounts of money into them, burning through his savings while Retsuko tries to cheer him up. Then the messages stop. Retsuko and Fenneko show up at his apartment ready to give him an earful and find a stranger living there instead. So where did Haida go? He's holed up in an internet cafe, flat broke and evicted, and that's where he runs into Shikabane, the skunk he only ever knew as an online friend. He keeps all of it from Retsuko. The lies stack up one on top of another, and the relationship starts to crack under the weight. Meanwhile the country is heading into a presidential election, and one of the candidates gets a good look at Retsuko and decides her singing is exactly what he needs. Can these two survive the campaign circus and each other?
