Then an alpaca named Tem turns up dead, and the whole uneasy arrangement starts to crack. Everyone wants someone to blame, and the grey wolf on the stage crew is the easiest target in the room. Legoshi has spent his life being flinched at. He keeps his head down, slouches to look smaller, says almost nothing. But a white dwarf rabbit named Haru, who gets treated like dirt by her classmates, wakes something in him that he cannot switch off, and it scares him more than any accusation. Meanwhile Louis, the red deer who runs the club like a king, keeps pushing Legoshi into the parts he never asked for. The instinct is real. So is the feeling. So is the killer, still walking the halls. Can a wolf trust himself around the one person he wants to protect?
