The Red Cat Ramen runs on nothing but paws. Manager Bunzou keeps the broth going, Sabu, Hana, Sasaki and Krishna work the counter, and every customer walks out grinning. A tight little operation, and it works. Then Tamako Yashiro shows up for an interview. Shy, nervous, practically shrinking into her chair. Bunzou hires her on the spot, and the reason is strange: she likes dogs more than cats. Not that she gets to cook anything. Her actual job is brushing her coworkers. Literally brushing them, all day. Her last job left scars she has not shaken off, and now she has to comb fur for a living while figuring out where she fits. Maybe this is the place. Maybe it is just another room full of people who will let her down. So why did Bunzou pick the one human who would rather pet a dog?
