Five kids, one summer, a mountain village so far out nobody would hear them yell. They're supposed to be at camp. Instead they're chasing a runaway rabbit named Pyon-kichi and finding a beat-up dog lying in a field full of flattened crop circles. They patch him up. Then the dog opens his mouth and talks, and his name turns out to be Pochi Rickman, and he's not a dog at all. He's an alien researcher who came here for a plant, a plant half the galaxy wants, and he got hurt before he could grab it. So he owes them. His thank-you gift is a trip to the moon, which sounds simple until they land and see what's actually up there: a whole alien city, packed and glowing, and the kids run loose through it. Then word gets out about how badly Pochi was wounded on the job. The moon's government slaps a travel ban on Earth, and just like that, home is off limits. Now they're stuck out in the galaxy with no way back, hopping from place to place looking for a door. And something else is on their tail, aliens tied to The Space Show, the most-watched thing in the universe and nobody knows what it really is. Are the kids running from it, or are they already inside it?
