Swarm
A bus goes off the road. That's it. That's all anyone sees at first. But the wreck pulls in people who had no business being there, and each one wants something different from the scene. Then the surprises start landing, one after another, and the picture everyone thought they had falls apart. The case stops looking like an accident real fast. What's buried under it is bigger than the investigators can handle, and the people digging are the last to know how deep it goes. Meanwhile, humans keep pushing at their own limits, testing what a body and a mind can take, never once noticing what they're actually standing on. Because they're not just making progress. They're at a fork, and something enormous is opening up on the other side of it. So who gets to decide which way everyone walks?
