Miou barely speaks up in art club. Haruki runs the movie club and already has awards for his directing. Everyone around them assumes they are a couple, and the two of them keep saying no, just friends, every single time. They met at the entrance ceremony, clicked right away, and have been inseparable ever since. Which makes the whole thing weirder. How do you stay that close for three years and never once call it what it is? Third year hits, and suddenly there is no more time to hide. Haruki is chasing a future behind a camera. Miou cannot even pick a direction, and the blank page scares her more than she will admit. Their friends in both clubs watch this slow disaster and say nothing. Meanwhile the two of them sit an arm's length apart, close enough to touch, insisting nothing is going on. They are lying. Mostly to themselves. The last year of high school is going to ask both of them hard questions about careers, about courage, about what they actually want. Ten centimeters is nothing. A hand's width. So why can neither of them close the gap?
