Kotarou writes stories nobody reads yet. Akane runs track and keeps her feelings locked down. They end up in the same class for their last year of junior high, two strangers who suddenly can't stop noticing each other. A glance held a second too long. A heartbeat that won't settle. That's how it starts, quiet and a little awkward, with friends Chinatsu and Takumi orbiting nearby and no clue what's coming. Then the school year stops being simple. Every conversation with Akane feels like a test Kotarou can't study for, and Akane has her own doubts she won't say out loud. Their friends start falling for the wrong people, or the right ones at the wrong time, and the whole group gets pulled into a mess of confessions, silences, and near misses. Under a full moon, Kotarou finally works up the nerve to ask Akane one question. Whatever she answers will change things between them for good. But can two people this unsure of themselves really hold onto each other once the year ends?
