Fifty years after the last war ended, the fighting never really stopped. Tokyo is gone, swallowed by a contaminated wasteland called the Blackspot, and everyone trapped inside it woke up changed. Fire in their hands. Gravity bending to their moods. The people outside were terrified, so they gave these mutants a name: the Needless, and tried to forget them behind the walls. Then a pharmaceutical giant called Simeon moves its shiny new headquarters right into the middle of the ruins, pouring money into charity while running unspeakable experiments behind closed doors and hunting down anyone who refuses to cooperate. Four hundred resistance fighters march on Simeon's boss. Four hundred. The Elite Four cut through them like paper, and only one man crawls out alive. Cruz Shield, bruised and half dead, stumbles into Adam Blade and Eve, two Needless with powers strong enough to make Simeon nervous, plus an old professor named Gido who seems to know more than he lets on. They agree to help him finish what the others started. Now they are picking a fight with a corporation that owns the Blackspot, its secrets, and most of its monsters. What does Simeon need all those test subjects for, and why is Adam Arcwright so calm about four people coming for his head?
