England, 1868. A carriage crash, a nobleman named George Joestar, and a stranger named Dario Brando who pulls him from the wreckage. George never learns that Dario was actually there to rob the bodies and only helped because the family turned out to be alive. Twelve years later, Dario is dead, and George, wanting to settle the debt, takes in his son Dio. Jonathan, the real heir, is glad to have a brother around. That feeling does not last. Dio smiles for the servants. He outpaces Jonathan at everything, turns his friends into strangers, and plants a kiss on the girl Jonathan likes just to watch it land. Then Jonathan's dog Denny turns up dead in the furnace. When Dio finally pushes too far, Jonathan stops being polite and beats him bloody in a fight. Years pass and the two act like old friends in public. Then George gets sick, and Jonathan starts to wonder what Dio has been mixing into his father's medicine. With a father fading in his bed and a brother who lies like he breathes, how much of the Joestar house does Dio already own?
