A deadly wind never stops blowing across Japan. It turns everything it touches into rust: the ground, the cities, plants, and human skin. Survivors cling to a ruined land, and mushroom hunters like Bisco Akaboshi are the ones who can still grow food in the poisoned soil. Then the government flips the story and pins the whole plague on the mushrooms. Suddenly Bisco is public enemy number one, a monster they call the Man-Eating Mushroom. Only he isn't eating anyone. He rides a giant crab named Akutagawa, fires arrows that sprout mushrooms on impact, and keeps looking for a cure anyway. Joining him is Milo, a doctor desperate to save his sister from the same rust creeping through her body. The world wants Bisco dead, the disease keeps spreading, and the one thing that might fix everything is a mushroom nobody has ever found. What happens when the most wanted man alive is also the only one still trying to save it?
