Eight hundred years back, demons almost wiped humans off the map. People begged the heavens for help, and something answered: the Idaten, battle gods with impossible strength, who crushed the demons and then settled into an age of quiet. So quiet that the gods born since have never seen a demon in their lives. They spar, they bicker, they train under Rin, the one Idaten still around from the old war. She remembers what the demons did. Nobody else does. Then the Zoble Empire digs up a demon and brings it back. A professor who calls himself the Dark Lord is behind it, and his plan is simple: let the old chaos loose again. Rin's trainees, Hayato, Paula, Issley and Prontea, get thrown at the empire because there is no one else left to send. They have the power. They have zero experience. Can a bunch of gods who have never been truly scared hold the line when the thing their whole existence was built to fight comes back hungry?
